A person who likes something just because they have heard that someone else likes them. Someone who wouldn't understand the meaning behind the lyrics or the thoughts and feelings. Someone who says they are when they aren't and are so obviously following along.
Example 1:
Poser: this hardcore kids are pretty cool.
Non-poser:.....okay...?
Poser: this band is pretty intense, i have their CDs and shirts at my house. I wrote all their lyrics on my wall.
Non-poser:...well....they're local...not signed...don't have a CD out yet, and instrumental.
Poser: Oh. Damnit.
Non-poser: Oh, posers...i enjoy you so much
Example 2:
Unknown: Excuse me sir, I want to buy that shirt with the two guns pointing at each other and the rose in the middle. I think it will make me look cool.
You shouldn't have to do this to be accepted.It's getting annoying when kids out there pretend to be something they're not because they think it makes them realy cool when in actual fact it makes them look like desperate wannabe's who can't get friends any other way (which is what they are).Just look at myspace, 2 years back,they were crazy about shuffling (some kind of dance) and Indie gigs.And now their latest addiction are labelling themself as hardcore kids,straight edge and moshers.
What makes me laugh is they were shufflers back then.
